Call an ambulance (999) or ask another person to make the call.
Airway
Open mouth- if foreign material present. Place in Recovery position. Clear airway with fingers.
Breathing
Check for breathing — look, listen, feel.
If not breathing: Start CPR
If breathing: Place in recovery position
CPR
Start CPR — 30 chest compressions and 2 breaths. Continue until help arrives or the patient recovers.
Defibrillation
Attach an AED and follow the voice prompts. This step re-establishes a normal heart rhythm.
